When I arrived at Fish Lake Resort, I was in bad shape: I’d spent the night before vomiting and hiked 19 miles on just a granola bar. Annette took one look at me and offered to help. She and the other staff fed me and showed me where to camp for free. Annette even offered to drive me into Medford the next day. So, after she got off work we drove into town, chatting the entire way. She drove me to several hotels until I found one that was within my budget. Annette helped me when I needed it most. She’s a true trail angel on the Pacific Crest Trail.
Fortunately, my boyfriend and I had planned a visit for this weekend, so I’ll be able to rest and recover before returning to the trail. I’m already on the mend!
