From Yogi’s PCT guidebook: tells hikers where to eat, sleep and resupply in town
How hard is it to hitch on the PCT? My friend told me he had to hold a $20 in the air most times to get people just to stop. However, once a driver picks you up and realize what you are doing, they generally won’t accept the money.
Hey 48 Leaves,
It’s been pretty easy thus far, but there are stretches of the trail that aren’t very populated, so don’t have a lot of traffic. I usually do most of my hitching from parking lots; I call this a ‘parking hitch’. It seems easier to talk people into a ride from a parking lot or trail head than standing on the road, waiting for a ride with my thumb out.
I hope that Korea is treating you well and you’re enjoying your new job.
Talk soon, Hitch
